Jack Trudeau is the Cool Dad

This won't be good for his coaching career.

Former University of Illinois and Colts quaterback Jack Trudeau was arrested for providing alcohol to a host of high school kids at his home in Zionsville, an Indianapolis suburb.

This is a doubly dipshit move considering 1) the NFL just extended its ban on providing alcohol to players to include flights and team events - a rule that presupposes those players are 21 - and 2) Jonathon Pavey, a Zionsville high school athlete remains in critical condition after a one-car accident last week resulting in large part from his being drunk. (Trudeau's partiers attend Park Tudor High School, Pavey attended Zionsville Community High School.)

In response to the Pavey incident, Boone County sheriff Ken Campbell said, "We will find out who supplied this young man with the alcohol and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law." Looks like Trudeau might need to find a replacement for that 3rd and 4th grade team he's coaching.

The article details how Trudeau has not always been the friendliest to law enforcement. My favorite part is when he refuses access to his home demanding a warrant. Know what the cops did? They got a damn warrant and searched the shit out of Trudeau's place.

I would have loved to see Trudeau's reaction when he realized the cops called his bluff and in the meantime he didn't get the kids to clear out except those that were hiding in his woods, which were all apprehended and charged with resisting law enforcement. Touchdown!

are these high school kids on an NFL team? Is Trudeau still QBing the Colts? Not sure why the NFL's new rule applies, nor why they'd concern themselves with Trudeau's current behavior.

Dane Lantz is not impressed with these party-throwing skills.

Does Jack Trudeau still opine about NFL issues on local talk radio? Yes. Did Jack Trudeau have issues with alcohol while in the NFL? Yes.

Is Jack Trudeau known for anything outside the NFL? Not until this weekend.

Gastapo Nazi tactics at it's best. These are good kids. Sherrif is just trying to make a name for himself.

Ross is extremely dumb judging from this post. 1) he wasn't there, and his comment is based solely on the skewd reports of the media. I am one of the kids who attended the party, I go to school with his daughter, and I know exactly what went down. Jack did NOT supply alcohol to anyone. All of the booze was snuck in. The trudeaus did everything possible to hold a safe celebration and protect us from the agenda dominated B.S. cops who targeted the party because of the host, and the attending students high-profile parents. Let's think; it does not take 40 cops from 5 different law enforcement agencies, with K-9's to break up a party. Nor does it take over five hours of causing $10,000 worth of damage to their home while sending officers out into the woods to search for teens. Also they did not catch everyone who fled...

In response to A. Nonymous, if that is your real name:

I'm not sure how my not being at the party makes me dumb. True, I may not have the full story as your "Mr. Pink got away" nuggets lets on, but are only people at the party allowed to comment? That makes things a bit boring.

Trudeau taking the keys is tantamount to a full endorsement of everything at the party. Supplier or not, why else would he take them?

Now, I too think 40 cops from 5 different agencies is a bit excessive, if that was the case. Yet, that doesn't change the fact that all signs are pointing to laws being broken. Whether it was a noise ordinance or corruption of youth on a global scale, the police had business being there.

I've also heard that Trudeau's wife is marked with a neighborhood vendetta. If that's the case, it shows poor judgment to have the party when you know the eyes of the Zionsville 'hood are trained on you. Even worse, why be conspicuous when Boone County officials have been vocal in their desire to crack down on such parties.

I'd love to see the receipt on the $10,000 damage. Did they tear up his lawn or were they busting in through windows?

And to the previous anonymous post, how many people can remind us, "These are good kids"? Is anyone doubting that? Good kids screw up too.

I think if you host the party, regardless if you supplied the alcohol or not, you are liable for the guests if they are drinking. Seriously, by taking the keys ole Jack and the wife had to know some drinking would be going on. You don't just take kids keys for the hell of it. You are correct Ross, good kids screw up too. If Jack would have been smart, he would have told the good kids to keep it down and then the police wouldn't have come to the party in the first place.

Jack learned the hard way what every parent should learn: Kids don't need their parents to be their friends, they nee their parents to be parents.

Teaching them that it is OK to bend the drinking laws from 21 to 18 teaches them also that it is OK to bend tax laws, accounting rules, that it must be OK to use cocaine and other illegal drugs, etc. Laws are there to be broken if you want to be cool or be a cool parent, right. Kudos to the County Sheriff...

Wow! If Anonymous honestly thinks that just bc a younger teen, say 18yrs old, has a drink prematurely means that they have completely utter diregard for all other laws is rediculous. Like this then tax evasion. Lets get real. Good god. This happened in "2007"
I live right next to Jack Trudeau and have nothing but positive things to say about his family and friends. I literally mean i live right next to Jack and his family. I grew up with his kids, babysat for them, even went to Holloween parties and other get togethers. All which were very responsible parties and my parents trusted me and my siblings over at their home any time. I attended Zionsville schools all my life. And yes this was the biggest dick up in Zionsville Law Enforcement History. I think they need to learn a little subtlety and not as soon as they "get em" go around screaming, "We've got an ex NFL player getting kids drunk.....And yes..... I was there. I'm a hero." Rediculous!
